On Neofetch, when people use the Linux operating system, Neofetch is most suitable for showing the full information of the operating system. But currently, it has discontinued the updates for this tool. At this time, Neofetch packages are available but not working properly with new releases. At this time, we can find an alternative tool, Fastfetch. Fastfetch is working for Linux, Mac, Windows, and more systems. In this tutorial, I can guide you on how to set up and install Fastfetch on Debian 12 operating system.
Install Fastfetch on Debian
From the Fastfetch official repo, you can see you cannot install directly via command line on Debian 12 because Fastfetch is available on Debian 13 or above, but the current latest Debian is 12 Bookworm. If you use Debian 12 or below, follow the given steps to install Fastfetch.
Now go to the Fastfetch GitHub repo platform and select the latest version of the package. At this time, the latest Fastfetch release is 2.24.0. If you try later, then you may see a different version. Now go to the download page and look for the Linux package formats. For Fedora, select the .deb
package, download the package, and install the .deb
package with the terminal, as you may already know.
After installing the software tool, you can input the sudo fastfetch
command in the terminal to show all the details you need.
Here you can see all the information about my Debian system on the terminal. It's looking good, but I am still missing the Neofetch on the terminal.
